New Android Marshmallow Set To Be Updated on TECNO Camon C8

Android is the Tech word that has captivated billions of users over the years. The growth of this Operating system for smartphones has been exploding since its release in 2008. One interesting thing that attracts users and people around the world is the names given to its build and versions. The company used names of the delicious food stuffs and deserts for different versions.

The various delicious versions are Apple pie 1.0, Banana bread 1.0, Cupcake 1.5, Donut 1.6, Eclairs 2.0, Froyo 2.2, Gingerbread 2.3, Honeycomb 3.0–3.2.6, Ice-cream sandwich 4.0.1, Jelly bean 4.1–4.3.1, KitKat 4.3, Lollipop (5.0–5.1.1)  and now the latest Marshmallow (6.0–6.0.1). Each, build, update and version usually comes with new and interesting features.

This Marshmallow version is definitely one every device would wish to upgrade to. It is an improvement on the Lollipop version with its own unique features. Unfortunately, not all devices permit upgrades to different android versions. Some of the cool features that the Marshmallow has are:

  1. RAM Manager – Android has had limited support for removable storage in one form or another since the beginning. With Marshmallow, the new Adoptable storage feature lets you turn your removable SD card option into a more or less permanent (and no longer removable) part of the device
  2. Improved cut, copy, and paste – With Android Lollipop and earlier, this process used symbols to represent these actions, which could be confusing. In Marshmallow, those symbols are replaced with words and the whole module has been moved from the top of the screen to right above the text you have selected.
  3. App Backup and Restore – Isn’t it frustrating to upgrade to a new phone, only to find that your apps aren’t the same as you left them? With Marshmallow, your smartphone, when connected to Wi-Fi, will backup app data directly to Google Drive. Then you can easily restore that data when you move to a new phone or if you need to wipe your device for any reason.
  4. More control over app permissions – All apps require certain permissions and currently you have to say yes or no to all of them. With Marshmallow, you can pick and choose which permissions you want to allow and which permissions you want to block. Some apps may not work properly in the short term since they need to be updated in order to accommodate this new feature. But, eventually, you will get better privacy and security as well as a better understanding of what you’re sharing with third parties.
  5. Longer battery life – Are you tired of waking up to a drained battery? Android’s new doze mode will prevent apps from running in the background when your phone is idle. This means your phone will be as ready as you are to start the day.

These are just a few of the features though. Some others are fingerprints usage used for unlocking devices and authenticating Play Store and Android Pay purchases. Support of USB Type-C, including the ability to instruct devices to charge another device over USB. How cool are all these features. Wouldn’t you want to have them on your device? Guess what?

TECNO has officially announced that this new android version would be available on the TECNO Camon C8. This latest android version would be available for update in February 2016 on the Camon C8. In the past, it has been said that TECNO mobile does not support OTA updates on their devices. However, this is false as TECNO has been supporting OTA (over the air) updates for a while now and the Camon C8 would be updated to a new version.

So, just imagine all the cool things you can do with your Camon C8 device from February.
